Amy Corinne "Cori"'s Story
Life
I missed out on graduating with you all because I was an AFS student to Australia that year. I lived with a Deaf family which launched my first "career" as an ASL interpreter for the deaf here in San Diego.
Then I moved to St Catharines, Ontario, Canada to get my BA in Teaching English as a Second Language. I meshed these two professions when I moved to Vermont to work in the Austine School for the Deaf as a language teacher.
That year I drove to Baltimore and interviewed to join the Peace Corps. I was accepted and moved to Namibia along the Angola Border to teach English in a High School just after their independance from South Africa. I was there from 1990-93. I met and married my husband in '93. He is from Seattle and was an Administrator for Peace Corps.

PC headquarters and Cole, my son, was born. In 1996 we moved to Kenya, as my husband took work with the United Nations. He worked for Unicef/Burundi and my son and I were "safe-havened" in Nairobi Kenya for several years.
In 1999, our daughter, Kylie was born and we moved to Madagascar. We had a great 3 years there...until Chuck was posted to Pakistan, where he is now. I brought my kids to Encinitas to be with my parents as we wait out the year. In July, we'll move to Cairo Egypt for our next "chapter" in our life with UNICEF.
Wierd to sum it all up...I got my notice on the 10 year reunion while I was in the Peace Corps...the day of the event. Wondering if there is a 20 year on the front...would love to hear about it and from anyone. I have not kept in touch with many people, but am open to hearing from you...
